Jazz Ensembles
The 2007-2008 Westlake High School Jazz Ensembles
- Studio Jazz Ensemble (Jazz I) (Mr. Peter)
- Lab Jazz Ensemble (Jazz II) (Mr. Gangemi)
Studio Jazz Ensemble I (period 6)
Lab Jazz Ensemble II (period 8 starting in December)
This is an auditioned group (auditions are held during the end of the previous school year). These bands are comprised of:
- 5 Saxophones (2 alto, 2 tenor, 1 baritone)
- 4 or 5 Trombones
- 4 or 5 Trumpets
- Rhythm Section (piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussion)
Jazz III and IV
Jazz II and III meet after school during the Spring Semester and are used as training groups to prepare students for the Studio Jazz Ensemble. These bands will attend jazz festivals and perform at the Spring Concert.
