How long before my performance should I show up?
Generally, if you are there at least 30–40 minutes before your performance you should be OK.
Are there places to warm up?
The Faculty Lounge will be used for warming up
Can people watch the performances?
Oh, heck yeah! We encourage it.
What kind of equipment will you supply?
We will supply music stands, chairs, a piano in each performance room, large percussion equipment and a generally all-around good attitude.
What kind of equipment will you not supply?
Anything that is not a music stand, a chair, a piano, or a generally all-around good attitude.
What kind of percussion equipment will you supply?
Vibes, chimes, marimba, xylophone, bass drum, 4 timpani, gong. No mallets, sticks, beaters, or snare drums will be supplied.
What should I wear?
Dress to impress. Remember what you wear for Festival? Well, this is a festival...just on a smaller scale. Tuxes are not necessary but a good shirt and tie will go a long way.
Can I give the judge a copy of my music and use the original for myself?
No. Please give the judge your original and use a copy for yourself. Make sure to number all of your measures. Please copy your music before you arrive at Westlake HS.
