Happy Winter:
We are getting busy once again. Congratulations to all the students from WHS who made it into All State Honor Band, All State Honor Jazz Band and Ventura County Honor Band. We have some amazing musical talent at this school. Finals are next week, with a wonderful celebration of our amazing regiment season with the Regiment Banquet on Friday. The Chicago trip is coming up as well as the Orchestra Retreat; the music train is truly out of the station now--very exciting!
The Booster Board is already looking forward for new talent to help run this awesome program. We have some senior parents who will be leaving us next year and the majority of the remaining parents are junior parents. Have you thought of getting more involved?
I have enjoyed my time with this program and I find myself in the position of having to possibly resign mid-year dependent upon job relocation, so I am looking for someone to step forward to become co-president. Next year the following position will be available: President, Fundraising Chair, Volunteer Chair, Communications and Secretary. We would also like to set up a training program for the following positions: VP of Productions, Corporate Sponsorship Chair and Treasurer. Let me, Susan Wolf or Samantha Seegull know if you are interested. We would love to talk to you about this.

Regiment Banquet Come celebrate Westlake High Schools Regiment Band's amazing regiment season, Friday January the 20th. This is a fun evening for the regiment students to acknowledge the experiences they shared this last fall. This year we will also have our tribute to the outgoing Seniors at the banquet, as we were unable to do the Senior Celebration at Santa Barbara City College due to rain and cooking restraints.
Join us for dinner at 6pm or for the awards at 7pm. Your student should have come home with a flyer, if you missed it follow this link. Please make sure to get your payments in by the latest Tuesday 1/17 and let us know if you will be attending the dinner. The boosters will be providing the traditional turkey dinner for the regiment in honor of the Seniors.
Your ISA letter in the mail Letters were sent out to all the booster families. This was a detail letter showing all donations received from you attributed to your student's involvement in the Westlake High School Instrumental Music Program. Please spend the time to read the letter. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or Jim Faltemier.
Thank you for your donation of time and money. This program depends on everyone doing what they can do to pay their "Fairshare" and to volunteer at our different fundraising events.

Ewaste Recycling Fundraiser - Good for the Environment and Good for the Music Department! Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 4th, from 10am-2pm, in the WHS front parking lot. It's your chance to get rid of unwanted TVs, computers, monitors, laptops, printers, cellphones, UPS devices, wires/cables, mobile devices and more, with proceeds going to the Instrumental Music Program. And the environment benefits as well; our recycle vendor ensures that all collection waste is handled properly and responsibly and has a zero-landfill/no overseas dumping policy.
We bet you've got old electronic stuff tucked away in your garage you've wanted to get rid of. And we bet your friends have some too - we're asking each of you to send the attached flyer to 10 of your friends and distribute at work. Everyone will appreciate it...and the Music Department benefits!
If you have any questions, please contact Susan Cotton @ cotton.susan@gmail.com.
